SmokeFree Camden Breathes Again …
There is an outside possibility that this project may be resurrected … Aimed at 16 – 25 year olds, the educational flash movie (mostly done in After Effects) would have projected the viewer into the next 50 years, and shown the possible effects on the local environment if smoking continues unchecked (from litter, to air quality, to less local effects such as world hunger and nutritional damage by goring tobacco instead of food crops).
Much influenced by Bladerunner, 2000AD, William Gibson and a plethora of eco-futursitic films (such as Silent Running and Soylent Green to name a few) – the project was an exciting end to my stintat Glass, and a good example oif a very adventurous client taking considerable risk in targetting an audience head-on.
After all the hard work that went into it from myself, the stalwart team of Alan Benzie, Simon Payne, Andy Telling, the Flash gurus at Distrub Media, and of course Smokefree Camden themsleves – it would be great if the project did recover from its near terminal shelving and, with fresh life breathed into it, was finally integrated into some of the more hard-hitting ‘wake-up call’ content of the Smokefree Camden site.
